Alaska Kayaking: Access to the Kenai Fjords
Water taxis, Charter vessels, Kayak outfitters and Guided sea kayaking tours:
I highly recommend using a water taxi or charter vessel drop-off service to access the waters outside Resurrection Bay. Passenger and cargo hauling landing craft are an efficient, energy saving, and practical way to reach sheltered kayaking destinations in the KENAI FJORDS NATIONAL PARK and other remote locations along the Kenai Fjords outer coast. All the services listed below depart from Seward and are the best in the business.
- AQUETEC (water taxi) does drop-offs and retrievals throughout Resurrection Bay, Day Harbor and the Kenai Fjords National Park. Contact Matt Cline.
- ADVENTURE 60 NORTH (kayak outfitter) provides rental kayaks, a guiding service and a wealth of information on getting into the fjords. They offers guided kayak trips to Bear Glacier, Resurrection Bay, Day Harbor and the Kenai Fjords National Park.
- WEATHER PERMITTING (water taxi) operates a fast, seaworthy landing craft. Captain Andy Wilder provides a freight hauling and kayak drop-off service mostly to places outside Resurrection Bay along the Kenai Fjords outer coast. Weather Permitting is one of the few water taxi services that can be chartered to NORTHWESTERN FJORD and remote locations in the McCarty Fjord, Nuka Bay and the NUKA ISLAND area.
- MILLER'S LANDING (camping/ lodging / boat charter and taxi/ kayak rental and drop-off) is one of the original water taxi services in Seward, Alaska. In summer, the Miller's Landing water taxi operates a daily schedule within Resurrection Bay. They also provide prearranged water taxi service to the Kenai Fjords National Park and the waters outside the National Park. Both Mike and Sherry Miller have a wealth of local Kenai Fjords knowledge and experience. The Miller's Landing facility is located on the shore of Resurrection Bay at Lowell Point. They have a small store, camp ground, boat launch area, and real Alaska atmosphere.
- ALASKA SALTWATER LODGE (lodging / boat charter / kayak drop-off) is located in Seward and Lowell Point. Alaska Saltwater Lodge is one of the original kayak drop-off services in the Kenai Fjords. Captain Jim Barkley and his wife Kathleen are very knowledgeable about the Kenai Fjords. Alaska Saltwater Lodge mostly operates in Resurrection Bay, Aialik Bay and Northwestern Fjord in the Kenai Fjords National Park.
- KAYAK ADVENTURES WORLDWIDE(kayak rentals / guided sea kayaking tours) The Kayak Adventures Worldwide office is located in downtown Seward on 3rd Ave. They provide custom guided sea kayaking tours of Aialik Bay and Northwestern Fjord in the KFNP.
- SUNNY COVE SEA KAYAKING COMPANY is one of the oldest kayak outfitters in the Kenai Fjords region. They have a variety of guided sea kayaking tour packages of Resurrection Bay and the Kenai Fjords National Park.
- BACKCOUNTRY SAFARIS (kayaking tours) specializes in sea kayaking tours of Aialik Bay in the KFNP.
- LIQUID ADVENTURES is another kayak outfitter that offers guided sea kayaking tours of Resurrection Bay, Aialik Bay and Northwestern Fjord in the Kenai Fjords National Park.
